Building Union Power for the Schools Our Children Deserve

Accomplishments

My Priorities for the Coming Term…

We have accomplished a lot together in these last two years, but there is much that remains to be done. These next two years are a chance for us to continue building the power of our union.

Here are six ways I will work to build the power of our Members and our coalition.

Empowerment Over Fear

Together we can overcome the fear of reprisal from school administration and embrace collective action for change. Your voice is crucial in shaping the future of education.

Addressing Systemic Issues

We will tackle racism and inequality in schools, promote inclusivity and champion an inclusive education system that stands against racism and supports every child.

Community Engagement

Our movement continues to encourage active involvement from teachers, parents, and public education supporters through signing up for updates and participating in campaign activities

Resource Allocation

Every school deserves adequate resources to thrive. I will ensure Jane and Finch, Rexdale, and Scarborough are not left behind by focusing on the critical need for adequate resources in underserved communities.

Teacher Support

I have and will continue to empower teachers by advocating for smaller classes, proper prep time, and valuable PD. You’re not alone in this fight.

Building Union Power

Together we are building union power for the schools our children deserve. Join our movement for change. Sign up, stay informed, and make a difference in our children’s future.

3 Major Accomplishments

  • 1. Better Member Communication

Since you elected me ETT Vice President, the ways in which your union communicates with Members about the Board has significantly improved. This connection was part of my commitment to you, and one I will continue to fufill.

  • 2. Fund Our Schools Campaign Coalition

Strengthening ETT’s relationships with other unions has been a core pillar of the last two years. This work is paying off right now – today – with the Fund Our Schools campaign, taking the fight to the Board and Provincial government alongside a coalition of labour and education unions.

  • 3. Stronger Community Relationships

Building union power means building deeper connections into our communities. Since electing me as Vice President of ETT, our union has strengthened its ties to key communities across Toronto, earning greater support for our campaigns and our Members.
